Behold the Power of Breast Milk?

by pittfall on February 7, 2007

Pork, usually in political and legal debates it refers to things that are extra or unnecessary, however this time it is referring to “the other white meat!”

I am not sure if you are aware, but a blogger and breastfeeding activist came under attack recently over a marketing t-shirt that slightly changed a prominent pork slogan and it got the pork board in an uproar and commanded a legal document to cease and desist.

The story has changed, in another letter from the board’s CEO:

Because of federal limitations on the expenditure of “Pork Checkoff” funds, National Pork Board is unable to make charitable contributions to any organization, including a non-profit organization such as Mother’s Milk Bank of Ohio.

Despite this restriction . . . National Pork Board intends to conduct a voluntary fundraising campaign among its staff and executives to gather donations for Mother’s Milk Bank of Ohio. . . . based on the support we have already seen among employees at National Pork Board – that this campaign will result in a generous contribution to Mother’s Milk Bank of Ohio.

All in all, everything came out better for both the pork board and the lactivist.

If you have anything to add, please feel free.
