For me personally searchwiki is so complex. I don't want to interact with my search results. I know goole provides most relevent results and it is constantly improving. But these things make google very complex. My request to Google -- just keep it clean and simple!

I think that the bounce rate is for the experienced user. Since I am not an experienced one, I prefer to look at the incoming traffics, visitors click, and their time spending on my blog. However I do read that bounce rate is also important in SEO and I'm looking forward to learn about it.

I think the search wiki will prove to be too easy to manipulate. I also think bounce rates can be manipulated. The truth of the matter is that the Search Engines will always have a difficult time finding "the best" matches for specific terms.

In my opinion, the Search Engines are going to have to use artificial intelligence, before they can start beating the SEOs out there trying to manipulate them.

Searchwiki is only the begining of the Era of Search Engines.
and The SEO, as we know it, will be vanished.

Today SEO is mainly based on Technical factors, but in the future the SEO will be based on Human factors. Google want to check the influence of people on SERP and I believe they will improve Wikisearch and add it more features in the future.
As you can see, on Alexa, The rising of Social media sites are significant and Google know that and make their changes.

@Grand Rapids

True, I think that it, like a number of other wikis, it won't have enough input to tailor the SERPs adequately. As far as being gone, I think that there are a number of fledgling products that haven't been scrapped, so it might be around for a while. I think Google will use it to justify their decisions like circumstantial evidence, after the fact.

Thanks for the comment.

I was wondering what the up and down arrows were on search results. I must admit it made me make a foll of myself the other day. I must have accidently clicked on the greep up arrow next to my site on my laptop once and later that evening I couldn't believe my luck when I saw that my site had achieved no.1 position for most of my keywords on Google. As I was not aware of this feature, I had no idea that the setting was only for my laptop. I thought, finally all the hard work and sleepless nights had paid of in the end. It was only after little more thought I realised how stupid I had been.

To me I feel that SearchWiki will be gone in the next year. I've found that most of my clients don't understand it and don't use it. Google might think of using it to change the rankings but I think they will change their minds soon.

@Sean

Thanks for the comment. The complexity of SearchWiki might be the addition that tips the scales in the favor of Google's competition, I think they will have to tie it back to their core offering, search. If they forget it, then they should be concerned. I still think it is way too early to tell, I guess we will see!

Hi Steve,

Great post here! I think measuring bounce rate would benefit sites with a better user experience in the long run. This would definitely make the case for businesses to invest in usability and customer experience. The key will be finding the right balance between keyword focus and experience. SearchWiki just adds another layer of complexity to the user and could backfire in maintaining market share for Google.
