DMOZ Submissions Are Functioning

by pittfall on January 13, 2007

DMOZ, also know as the open directory project, after a long needed holiday vacation has opened up to receive new submissions for inclusion.

What is so important about ODP?

1. DMOZ data is used across many domains, many of them are extremely important to building value to your website. These sites include:

  • AOL
  • Google
  • 2. DMOZ is published in 17 languages, how to reach out to global users.

    3. They have only 4 million websites in over 590,000 categories.

    4. They are a trusted resource with relevant sites in relevant categories.

There are a large number of people in the SEO community that have dissed the directory for quite a while, however, it is very apparent, either you love or hate it.

    What are your thoughts?

Do you feel it as an important resource or antiquated service?

Can the Internet community pick up the slack?
