Great idea that could bring out the potential of blogger’s opinions. The concept, marketers reach out to bloggers that have the visitors or readership that the marketer wants to reach. The owner reviews the product, service or website of the marketer. I am being careful to speak about marketer and not advertiser, because the marketer has no control over what the blogger is going to point out or say about the product, service or website.
This can accomplish something for both the marketer and the blogger:
buzz (positive or negative is still buzz).
There is great responsibility implied here. First, the blogger has to have standards and a desire not to be up for sale, and second, the marketer should not expect the blogger to sell out and spew what the marketer wants.
The key: control should not be in the hands of the blogger or the marketer. A third-party, like ReviewMe to maintain control and benefits for both the marketer and the blogger.
It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out. My personal opinion would be that they change the name to EndorseMe!
