Sitemaps Gets Fresh!

Google has made adjustments to the query stats in Google Sitemaps.

So, how fresh is fresh? How about 3 times fresher:

“Previously, we showed data that was averaged over a period of three weeks. Now, we show data that is averaged over a period of one week. This results in fresher stats for you, as well as stats that more accurately reflect the current queries that return your site in the results.”

How does this affect me? You now get to see fresher statistics on how much exposure your site is getting (impressions), and face it news is only good if it is current. Three week old news about a topic just wouldn’t cut it in the real world.

Plus, if you want to look at the query data more closely, you can download the information for further review.
