SponsoredReviews.com is Set to Launch

Yet another pay for post site by the owners of Text Link Brokers has announced that they are putting their hat in the ring.

This is fine, however, it helps to dilute the value of a blog. I know, here I stand on my soap box (again), and proclaim the negative results when everything you do you try to market for monetary gains. But, then, of course, SEO is an aspect of marketing isn’t it. I am not trying to be high and mighty, and no, I was not paid to post this review, however, it seems to me that if something is important to someone, then they have to stand for it.

My integrity, my reputation is here, on my personal blog. Do I have aspirations of grandeur, sure, however, my integrity is not for sale. There is a place for this in the blogging community, but it comes down to “who do you trust?” Just like any other media, people make claims on the Internet, some true, many false, but what is important is the ability to say it. So, even though I have not indulged into the pay for post arena, I welcome this new program and will leave you with something I have posted before:

“My personal thoughts are that it is a new form of endorsement. I think that any advertiser that is expecting a link out of a Review Me post should reconsider. If you think that buying links will get you what you want, then buy them.

True SEO starts with the user and ends there, any attempt to do something to artificially inflate organic ranking should be reconsidered. (my two cents)”

What are your thoughts,

Is pay for post a good thing?

For the advertiser?

For the blogger?
