Vote

VoteAs I am sure many of you share my feelings, I have become very disenfranchised with the 2008 Presidential Election. Both side have used negativity and scare tactics to drum up support for their ticket. Each side has highlighted the historical event that is about to happen no matter the outcome.

I am not here to start a stump speech for either ticket, or pass my personal opinions of who is best suited to lead this great nation. Like many, I have served and sacrificed for this country. No matter the situation that we are in, I still love and support the United States. Time is short, no matter who becomes our next president, it is abundantly clear that all of us (even me) needs to be more active in our country. I pledge to be more involved in local, state and national politics. Why are we here? Because we elected the officials that led us here. I am not going to blame one politician, one party or even one administration. The only one that I have to blame for the condition of our economy, energy policies and general disorder is the guy that I look at every morning in the mirror.

So, if you are registered, VOTE!

If you are not registered, REGISTER!

If you don’t know what is on the ballot, GET INFORMED!

Don’t leave it to others to decide what is best for you and your community.

See you at the polls!

Action, even if not in the form of a chosen ballot in favor of one or the other, is the vote we have been missing as a people, a nation, a globe.

Lately, I have been digging deeply into the pit of my soul for answers to why we have become so disconnected from action while speaking words of change, improvement, unison, peace.

What I have concluded came from my roots. My upbringing.

I believe if our spirituality were in tact, we would be a globe, not just a tiny nation, of nurturers and doers, sharing a brotherhood.

We have limited scopes due to our imperfections. We are at a loss when searching for living examples to learn from unless these examples are received in scripture form. We are far removed from Holy in our actions towards God, our environment, and our fellowman.

We struggle for all the things that scripture suggested we refrain from, and we have suffered as a direct result. None of us could fail if all would succumb, but we are stubborn and want what we want, when we want it, how we want it and are willing to go to any lengths to secure those things.

Some simply don’t have an appreciation for its message for one reason or another.

We are destroying one another. From the inside out. Each generation will continue to bring ruin in larger and larger chunks until we kill each other off or God steps in like I’d like to believe will happen.

I didn’t vote by ballot but I vote for change by action and I believe sharing friendships with people like yourself who also are struggling for the same, is what it’s all about.

We have potential as a unit and Gods help.

Thanks for always being of so much encouragement for me and for all of us who realize that sincerity and action rare treasures. I consider you a real friend. Not a virtual address.

The election has highlighted what has been true for some time, everyone is quick to judge others, however we are usually fail when it comes to holding them accountable.

The most important thing is almost always forgotten, we are the ones that are responsible. We elected the officials that have navigated us to this point and we have not been good stewards by monitoring their actions and holding them accountable for their actions.

Let’s resolve to be better friends, brothers, sisters and citizens. Let us work to build a better environment for everyone, this is not a time to be selfish and self-centered.

Kim, thank you for being a positive influence online, not just to me but also the search engine marketing community. I look forward to your (more active) return…
