Hooray for those of you who have been competing with others that have either been competing with another website or group of websites that are listed in Wikipedia. Wikipedia has gone to “nofollow” tags for all external links.
I first heard the news from Carsten at Search Engine Journal.
So, what does this mean? This means that all of the websites that you compete with that are listed in Wikipedia because they know someone or that they have been around for a long time, does not mean that they get the value of being listed in Wikipedia.
This also means that the marketers of websites that are included will need to keep enriching their site to provide more valuable experience for the user. In my mind this is a win-win for competition and users.
What are your thoughts?
