Yahoo announced today that they are releasing Yahoo! Maps from beta:
Since we released the beta version, we’ve spent our time optimizing the product and responding to user feedback to make it ready for mainstream use. The new Yahoo! Maps gives our users a more expedient method of finding locations and getting driving directions, and is an even more powerful tool within Yahoo! Local.
With MSN Live Search launched MSN Maps just last week. This is sure to heat up the social and map market.
The only question that I have: with Google Maps, Google Earth, MSN Maps, Yahoo! Maps and of course the GPS storm over the last few years, what ever happened to MapQuest? Are they still in the game, or is another AOL product going down because everyone else is doing better and they can’t keep up?
